thanksgiving prep

I am beyond excited for Thanksgiving!  Christmas is my favorite holiday, but Thanksgiving is hands down my FAVORITE MEAL of the entire year!

This year is my first time hosting Thanksgiving.  Last year was my first Thanksgiving away from home, but we spent it at my sister-in-law's.  So even though I helped with a lot of the cooking, etc I wasn't really hosting.  This is the first time Thanksgiving is at MY HOUSE.

We're having a few friends over to hang out, cook, and EAT.  I love Thanksgiving for it's food, but also how it feels.  It's casual.  It's relaxed.  Everyone just hanging out all together cooking, and talking, and having a good time.

I was going to be adventerous with the menu, but then decided to go traditional.  I like traditional. The only dish I'm stumbling on is the Sweet Potatoes.  There are literally a bazillion ways to cook them, and I don't know what to do!  I could go pretty standard and just mash them, but that seems boring when we have regular mashed potatoes.  I'm stuck!

Here are some sources of inspiration I've been looking over today:

Clockwise from top left:  FREE PDF 63 page COOKBOOK from Martha Stewart Living ///  Wild Cabin Thanksgiving at Design Sponge ///  Rustic Autumn Tablescape on Snippet&Ink ///  Pumpkin Whoopie Pies! on EAD Living.

I hope my Turkey looks that good!  I don't know if I will have time to make those pumpkin whoopie pies this holiday, but dang they look good and I need to try that SOON.

I'll be sure to share how our holiday ends up.

Until then,

I love you.
