flashback friday: love

In honor of the approaching Valentine's Day I wanted to find a flashback photo from a past valentines day.  Unfortunately, it appears there are none?!?!  To be quite honest, the only one I truly remember is our first one together.  I think that B's Mother has some from that night, but they wouldn't do it justice.  I'll save that wonderful story for another day.

So, in the absence of a true valentine's day photo I decided to find the cheesiest "love" photo I could.

This flashback photo was taken early June 2007, by B's Mother.  B had just graduated from Drexel, and his family was in Philly to celebrate.  We were walking around the city before going out to dinner, and walked through Love Park.  B's Mother asked us to pose under Philly's iconic Love Sculpture.  As soon as she asked, I knew we were headed for scary territory. I think she said something like, "Now, I've got a cute idea so just go under there." After she snapped this picture I knew it was coming.  She asked us to kiss!  I immediately screamed, and refused. I'm not sure why.  We had been dating nearly five years.  In fact, we would be engaged just a week or two after this picture was taken, and married four months after that.  It's not like people thought we had never kissed before!  But either way, I was not into kissing in front of everyone.  It's a silly photo, sure, but I still love it.  We don't have many Philly "touristy" photos.  I'm happy to at least have this one.  Plus, it is extra special since like I mentioned we were engaged just a week or two after this photo was taken.

Do any of you have fun Valentine's Day plans?  Any one prepping something big and elaborate?  Comment and share.

Until Then.

I love you.

  1. Ahhhh...reminds me of the time the Phillies won the world series and everyone rioted in the streets and you and I were right near Love Park when we REALLY had to pee. DOT DOT DOT. HAHA! That is a memory that only you, and well, I guess Ben, share with me.

We are going out for no holds barred (excepting the vegetarian stuff) SUSHI nite. I hope to use the wasabi to burn through my sinus pressure. I'm going to get so fat on avocado, rice, and wine.
