flashback friday: inspiration

"Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working." - Pablo Picasso

 So True Pablo.  So true.

This Flash back Friday I will share a photograph I took  fall of 2003, that inspires me.  Or at least I think it was fall of 2003.  It could be Winter of 2004, or even Spring of 2004. This photo is currently pinned to the bulletin board next to my desk.

This is a photograph I took of BK's college band when it was in it's earliest form.  They used to practice in the basement of a friends house, which was unfinished and very run down.  It had a lot of charm.  The photo inspires me because I think it has a lot of "good photo" qualities that just happened without me trying.  This was pretty early on in my experiments with black and white film, and I was just fooling around and learning as I went.  As I recall, I was super proud of this whole roll when I got it back.  I love the rim light around BK.  Also- it looks like the microphone is smoking, but really is was a random wire hanging from the ceiling.  It reminds me of my early adventures in photography, and inspires me to press on knowing sometimes we do things and learn things without having to try very hard.    Also, it just reminds me of a different time in life and a different way we were, and that makes me smile too.

What photos inspire you?  Comment, and let me know.

Until Then.

I love you.
