my new favorite home item

I have wanted an old globe for our home for FOREVER.  Well, last week when I took out the trash my wish was granted.  There it was- right on top when I opened the trash bin.  I was seriously so so so excited to find it there.  I cleaned it off, tightened the screw on the base, and it was as good as new! 

It is of course out of date, and in that regard not a reliable geographic source.  I don't care, cause that's what google maps is for; this just sits there and looks awesome!  It also inspires me to think about travel, and the world, and things beyond where I am right now.

I cannot decide where to put it in our house. I feel a globe's natural place in the home is the library, BUT our library is already pretty full.  Right now I am thinking of using it in the living room, cause that room does need some serious work.

I want to concentrate this week on finishing as much home decor/ organization as I can.  I have a few projects left undone I MUST finish.

This past week I was fortunate enough to attend Making Things Happen, and one idea that was reinforced for me is that our environments are so important to our day to day.  I need to continue to streamline, organize, and make our home as pleasant, warm, comfortable, and inspiring a place as possible.  BE spends a lot of time working from home, so we need a home that is conducive for that.

So...what project should I conquer first?  Where should I put the globe?  I'm still not sure.
